Inspiring Scotland strives for a Scotland without poverty or disadvantage.
Since 2008, Inspiring Scotland has worked towards a Scotland where everyone, no matter who they are, no matter where they live, or the circumstances they are born into, has the chance to enjoy a happy, healthy life free from poverty or disadvantage. We do not accept the status quo and we are committed for as long as it takes, whatever it takes, to build a better Scotland.
Inspiring Scotland’s Thrive Outdoors programme gives children the opportunity to play and learn outdoors, in their communities, in nursery and in school, boosting their health and wellbeing as well as improving their social, emotional and cognitive development.
We work with Scottish Government, local authorities and partner organisations to emphasise the health, social, educational and environmental benefits of outdoor play as part of embedding it in everyday life for Scotland’s children. Our Early Learning and Childcare work supports children aged 2 to 5 to play and learn outdoors by increasing the provision of outdoor nurseries and childcare across Scotland.
We believe every child growing up in Scotland should have the opportunity to benefit from playing and learning outdoors from an early age.
